Initiating or accompanying transformation: current trends in art in public spaces at Kunsthalle Zürich

On January 16th and 17th, 2025 at 17:30 the Asociación de Arte Útil will present its archive as part of Initiating or Accompanying Transformation: Current Trends in Art in Public Space, an evening focused on how art makes processes of change visible and conceivable, and how it accompanies and interprets change—both for the urban public and within the art world.

Organised by City of Zürich’s specialist Kunst im öffentlichen Raum (Art and Public Space, KiöR) working group and Kunsthalle Zürich the programme is part of Ruth Erdt’s exhibition K12 Schwamendingen.

Thursday, 16 January 2025 from 5.30 pm
‘Artistic perspectives and strategies’

The focus is on artistic and curatorial strategies that initiate social transformation processes and make them visible in public space. We will discuss how artists can become active in an increasingly fragmented public sphere and initiate and critically reflect on change.
